These pilots, who train on their free time for no compensation, are the last line of defense on our airliners. They are deputized officers who are authorized to use firearms to defend against violent acts on planes. Flew in this today on a sortie and NEVER will again it’s a freaking oven in that old plane, it would’ve been fine at like 5,000 feet but we were just at 1,000 looking for a beacon and it got incredibly hot, especially in that damn flame resistant flight suit.
